One of the nursery workers at a church wasn't scheduled to be in the nursery
on this particular Sunday. She ended up working in the nursery
anyway. There was a baby that was sick with a cold and congestion in the
nursery. The workers scheduled for that Sunday would have told the mother
to keep her child with her, but the unscheduled worker said, "I'll stay in
here and take care of her." The mother of the child really needed to
be in the service and be able to hear the Word. The unscheduled worker took very good care of the child. She rubbed,
patted, cared for, and nurtured the sick baby. The baby was quiet and calm
during the whole time. The child even went to sleep without any
discomfort. If it had not been for that unscheduled nursery worker staying
in the nursery that day, the sick child would not have received the love and
care that she did. the mother was also able to be in service and hear the
Word of God. That's true ministry, when you can take out time to care for a sick
child versus, sending that child to its mother. |
